LAW OFFICE OF WAYNE I. NOVAK

Defending your rights to the fullest.

Sex Crimes
Being charged with a sex crime is a very serious matter which can have far reaching effects on your life.  Not only do you face the possibility of jail time but also potential negative effects to your social life and current or future employment.  Those who are convicted of certain sex crimes may have to register as a sex offender for the rest of their life.  Understandably you may be worried about how to handle the situation. I will ease any anxiety you may have and make sure your rights and interests are protected to the fullest.  I will fight to keep you out of jail and keep the charge off your permanent record (see expungements).  In order to be most effective you need to contact me as soon as possible so that I can immediately take the appropriate actions.  Here is a list of some of the more common sex crimes you may have been charged with:

   • Solicitation 720 ILCS 5/11-15 and 720 ILCS 5/11-14.1
   • Prostitution 720 ILCS 5/11-14
   • Criminal Sexual Assault 720 ILCS 5/12-13
   • Criminal Sexual Abuse 720 ILCS 5/12-15
   • Public Indecency 720 ILCS 5/11-9
   • Keeping a Place of Prostitution 720 ILCS 5/11-17

If you have been charged with any of the above or another sex crime I can help.  Since the beginning of my career I have successfully defended and gotten favorable dispositions for sexual offense cases and many times was able to get outright dismissals.  With a proven track record I will make sure you get the best defense and best result possible.  Bad things happen to good people but whether you were wrongly arrested or simply made an error in judgment I will do my best to make sure your life is not negatively affected.

Experience Matters
I have vast experience in the area of criminal defense.  Whether I am defending a misdemeanor violation or a serious felony offense, I will do everything possible to achieve the best possible result for my client.  The ultimate goal in every case I take on is to keep the charge of my client's permanent record if at all possible.  The sooner you contact me, the sooner I can preserve evidence that is routinely destroyed by most police departments within the first 30 days (booking room video, police dispatch recordings and any other audio or video recordings that may have been made routinely are destroyed after 30 days), which could ultimately impact whether you win or lose your case.  I will take a critical look at police conduct to make sure none of your constitutional rights were violated, and if they were, I will fight to get your case dismissed before a trial would even occur.
